Yesterday at the Macworld conference Keynote, Steve Jobs from Apple presented the world’s thinest laptop. The Macbook Air comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor at 1.6GHz, an 80 Gb Hard Drive and a 13.3 inch monitor as well as 2 Gb of Ram… With all these things included this Ultraportable Notebook from Apple is still less than 2cm thin (19.3 mm to be exact).

The Macbook Air has a street price of $1,799 and can be ordered now with delivery scheduled for three or four weeks in the US. The fully loaded version has a 2.0 GHz processor and a Solid-State hard drive (with no moving parts) and can be had for only $3,098.00 bucks. You can get the basic Macbook Air with an upgraded processor running at 1.8GHz for $2,099. If you are a teacher or a student and any university in the United States, or if you know a student if might be possible to take advantage of Apple’s Student Discount which can save you from $100 to $230 dollars.

Being so thin, this Macbook does not stop being functional. Although it does not have an optical drive (CD/DVD), you can order an external USB drive for only $99.00 while you can use another computer’s optical drive through a WiFi connection to a compatible Windows PC or Mac. This can be used to access files and for installations.

The 80Gb hard drive is actually borrowed from the iPods, this notebook does have a Micro-DVI and headphone outputs as well as one USB 2.0 connector, an iSight camera and an 802.11n wireless card for connectivity.

One of the most surprising thing about this new Apple Macbook Air is the battery life. Keeping so thin this battery allows for up to 5 hours of WiFi web surfing.

One of my favorite cities has to be Las Vegas, Nevada. The hotels, the casinos, the luxury, the bars and lounges and the atmosphere in general make Las Vegas a very special city.

To celebrate the New Year and start off 2008 as it should there’s nothing else like a party with hundreds of people living it up!

Jet Nightclub at The Mirage in Las Vegas will be the place of one of the best parties for this new year, 2008. The theme? Secret Agents, James Bond style….. the celebrated number is none other than 008…. of course!!!

The entrance fee to this party is at $200.00 dollars per person. If you want a table you have to reserve beforehand and purchase one or two bottles at about $3,000 each granting access to 4 or 5 people in your party. The club can fit about 850 people. Let’s give the numbers a go… assuming no tables are reserved (they all are, of course) and everyone paying a normal cover at the door this nightclub will gross about $170,000 in entrance fees that night. Drinks vary but hover at between $13 and $20 bucks. From beer to Champagne and the classical Martini (Shaken OR stirred) will be available to start enjoying this 2008.

Albus Dumbledore was declared homosexual by the author of the infamous books by Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling.

You will not find this in the new and final book from the series, “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows” or in any of the previous books… on the contrary, the only thing you find is nothing except a mystery about the past of this Hogwarts professor.

It was October 19, infront of 1,000 followers of the Harry Potter series in New York’s Carnegie Hall during a lecture that Rowling responded to a question about the wizard’s love life saying that she has always thought of Dumbledore as a Homosexual. After a brief silence, the crowd responded with thundering applause!

She also stated that if she had known how they would have responded she would have anounced it a few years ago.

It so turns out that she went into a monologue explaining the falling in love of Dumbledore during his youth to another wizard called Grindelwald who ended up turning into a follower of the evil nemesis of the series called Voldemort. After suffering the pain of his love turning to the dark side, his heart was broken beyond repair when he had to confront his previous lover in battle, having to put him away for ever.

Although during reading the various books certain things might tip someone off to Dumbledore’s sexuality, there is no direct mention of his homosexuality and there is no incentive from Rowling to believe that he is Gay. It was only three months after closing the series forever that the author came out with this information publicly.

:Even though I have nothing against people’s sexual preferences, I do have something against an author who makes declarations about a primary character in the book well after the series is closed and having those declarations being completely out of context.

The true magic of Harry Potter is in the reader’s imagination and the power of completing the character’s with one’s own mind allowing everyone to find someone to identify with. By making statement’s like Rowling’s she imposes her ideas and thoughts over and above the reader’s already set ideas about the character. For me, Dumbledore will continue to be the great wise wizard with an air of loving grandfather much more than a broken, frustrated homosexual.

La gente en iPhoneSimFree libera nuevamente tu iPhone! Si quedo bloqueado por la actualizacion al firmware 1.1.1 y es ahora un ladrillo o si no lo actualizas por miedo al bloqueo de Apple, aqui esta tu solucion!

Desde hace varias semanas ya se podia desbloquear el iPhone y despues actualizarlo al 1.1.1, pero implicaba regresar a un firmware anterior y despues correr el programa… ahora ya es nativo al 1.1.1. Si tu iPhone esta bloqueado, es muy nuevo y ya tiene la version 1.1.1 o lo actualizaste y ahora lo quieres usar con otro proveedor de telefonia celular (en cualquier parte del mundo) solo tienes que bajar, comprar y correr el programa de iPhoneSimFree.

Si, dice Free en su nombre, pero no es gratis… lo que hace es libera tu iPhone para uso en otras redes telefonicas. El costo varia con el distribuidor pero anda entre los $68.00 a $100.00 dependiendo de si lo quiere desbloquear uno mismo o prefiere que el distribuidor haga el trabajo sucio. Al navegar por internet me encontre con los tipicos videos de Blendtec y su serie “Will It Blend?” (Se puede licuar?). Son videos muy entretenidos y divertidos, pero me encontre con un par de videos que tengo que compartir! Favor de ver los siguientes videos en orden, y si no saben ingles, aun se pueden disfrutar pero no te van a dar tanta diversion como el entender el dialogo del segundo video.

Aguanten!!!! No se vayan, el primer video es tan solo el mal necesario para disfrutar el segundo!! Si no aguantas estos videos, creeme… ve el 1 para que entiendas el video 2…. ese es el bueno!

Britney Spears pierde la potestad de sus hijos a Kevin Federline por order de el Juez Scott Gordon, del condado de Los Angeles, California. Britney y Kevin Federline tenian potestad compartida al 50/50 de los niños y por orden del Juez, Britney tendra que entregarle a Kevin los niños el Miercoles 3 de Octubre a las 12:00 pm.

Despues de escuchar varios testimonios como el de el ex-guardaespaldas de Britney Spears solo faltaba un error como el cometido por Britney hace unos dias al continuar manejando con sus hijos en el carro sin tener licencia de conducir.

De acuerdo a reportes varios la razon por la cual la corte no tuvo mucha opcion no fue por lo que hizo Britney Spears, sino por lo que no estaba haciendo.

El juez le habia pedido que se vea con un consejero sobre adicciones a las drogas, y Britney no lo hizo;
se le pidio que tome pruebas semanales para medir el uso de drogas, y Britney no lo hizo;
se le pidio que tomara clases para se mejor madre, y Britney no lo hizo;
se le pidio que firmara la orden del juez, y Britney lo no hizo.

Al parecer, Britney ya le entrego los niños al guardaespaldas de Kevin Federline a medio dia este Lunes media hora despues de llevarlos al Carl’s Jr. Despues de dejar a sus hijos ya fue, al fin, a sacar su licencia de manejar, y esta ves si paso el examen!

: En esta vida lo que se debe se termina pagando. Que lastima que Britney Spears tuvo que sufrir lo que paso para arreglar su vida. Espero que sea en serio, y no lo digo solo por ser Britney Spears, lo digo por todos los que tienen su vida hecho un desastre. Agarren valor y enfrenten la situación antes de que la situación se los coma vivos.

Apple siempre trata de cumplir y como anunciaron hace varios dias, con la nueva acutalizacion “iPhone Update 1.1.1” arreglan varios problemas que existian con el iPhone.

Esta nueva actualizacion arregla siete (7) errores en el browser Safari, dos (2) errores en el cliente de correos y un error en el Bluetooth.

El mas peligroso de estos errores es el del Bluetooth. Al parecer el “bug” permitia acceso remoto al iPhone y el poder correr codigo no autorizado, siendo el limitante la distancia que por naturaleza implica el Bluetooth. “Se tendria que estar a unos cuantos pies de la victima para que funcione este ataque”, dijo HD Moore, un hacker muy reconocido.

Pero la promesa de Apple que cumplio al pie de la letra fue el de deshabilitar todo iPhone hackeado para aceptar otras tarjetas SIM permitiendo el uso con otras compañias de telefonia celular que no sean AT&T. Resulta que al conectar el iPhone a la computadora, ya sea para cargar la bateria o para actualizar tu coleccion de musica automaticamente corre iTunes la actualizacion. Al parecer todo funciona bien y termina en order, pero a la hora de reiniciar aparece una leyenda pidiendo una tarjeta SIM valida. Todas las funciones quedan deshabilitadas excepto el poder hacer llamadas de emergencia. Aun al ingresar la tarjeta SIM original, sigue el aparato sin funcionar

De acuerdo a Apple, dicen que ellos no estan tratando de activamente deshabilitar tales equipos… solo que al cambiar la configuracion interna o el correr codigo no autorizado causa cambios en el sistema que al aplicar la actualizacion resulta el equipo deshabilitado.

: Considerando que Apple comienza la distribucion del iPhone el 9 de Noviembre en Inglaterra, cada dia esta mas cerca a su distribucion mundial, quiza vale la pena esperarse a que llegue al mercado local en lugar de agarrar $300 o $400 dolares para tener unos dias de diversion y meses con un iPhone deshabilitado.

$40 Millones de dolares para ayuda humanitaria a Nicaragua y Peru por sus desastres naturales recientes

$5 Millones de dolares para la educacion de los niños en Latino America.

Esta donación fue anunciada durante una junta de la Iniciativa Global de Bill Clinton, ex-presidente de Estados Unidos.

: Aun con tal generosidad de su parte, sigue siendo una persona normal. De acuerdo a varias de sus “amigas cercanas”, a Shakira (Shakis) no le gusta bañarse los Domingos!! De hecho, si llega alguien a visitarla a su casa en Domingo ella los recibe en pijamas. Puede llegar alguien famoso o alguien como Ricky Martin y ella asi los recibe.
